A recipe organizer app that stays yours

Most recipe apps push accounts, cloud sync, and endless discovery feeds. If you already know what you cook, you need a quieter tool: a personal recipe library that stores the dishes you trust—and helps you pick one when dinner gets stuck.

Screenshots and boards are not an organizer

Camera rolls and Pinterest boards bury the recipes you actually make. You open them, hunt for that one pasta, give up, and order takeout. An organizer should make your go-tos easy to find, tag, and cook from—not replace them with more inspiration.

Dish Rolodex is built as a recipe rolodex: each dish has a name, ingredients, steps, optional photo, and tags. Search and filter the library instead of scrolling a feed.

Private by default

Your collection lives on your device. There is no Dish Rolodex account required for the library. We are not collecting your family recipes into a cloud you did not ask for.

When you change phones or browsers, export a JSON backup from Settings and restore it on the new device. That file is yours. Prefer sharing one recipe with family? Export a small share file they can import into their own private library.

Start your private recipe library

Free on iOS, Android, and web. No account to keep your dishes.

Organize, then decide

Tags turn a pile of favorites into something you can cook from: weeknight, comfort, grill, batch. Favorites surface more often on the Tonight wheel. Cooked it history shows what you have been making without becoming a judgmental dashboard.

Use it as a private recipe collection, an offline-friendly companion once loaded, or a lightweight meal planning sidekick—then when you do not want to decide, open the dinner wheel.

Common questions

Do I need an account?
No for the library itself. Dishes are stored locally on your device. Use Export/Import when you want a backup or to move devices.
Can I share a recipe with family?
Yes. Share a single dish as a small JSON file they can import into their own Dish Rolodex. You send the file; we do not host their copy.
Does it work offline?
Once the app or web app has loaded, your library and wheel run from on-device storage. It is designed as offline-friendly companion software, not a constantly synced social product.
