Share a recipe from Dish Rolodex

Export one dish as a file, send it however you like, and the other person adds it to their own rolodex without touching yours.

How it works

Open any dish in the app and tap Share recipe. Your phone or browser saves or sends a small .json file (ingredients, steps, photo — not your cook history).
The recipient opens Dish Rolodex, goes to Settings, and taps Import shared recipe. The dish is added to their library. Nothing is deleted on their device.
Full-device backups still use Restore from backup and replace the library — only use those for your own migration between phones.

Dish Rolodex stays private on each device. Sharing is always a file you choose to send — we don't host your recipes on a server for this flow.
